Architect in the House, a campaign run by homelessness charity Shelter and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), that’s now in its 17th year. It matches homeowners to a chartered architect, who donates an hour of their time to a design consultation.

After learning how you could make worthwhile improvements to your property, you are encouraged to make a suggested donation of £45 to Shelter, which does vital work for people in housing need.

Don’t move, improve

With Architect in the House, you can help make a difference to the lives of others while gaining professional insights about home improvement. If you’ve recently thought about upping sticks, why not ponder changes you could possibly make to your current home instead?

Perhaps you could transform your kitchen, spruce up your bathroom, or alter the look and feel of a bedroom? Whatever you have in mind, you could benefit from a locally based RIBA chartered architect’s dedicated time to help you along. Register for a consultation and a qualified expert will visit your home, offering fresh inspiration, with no obligation to see any suggestions through to completion.

1st architects are participants in the scheme and you can make an appointment with one of our architects by e mailing or registering on the architects in the house website.
